I'm trying to work out a scenario in my head for a story that I intend to write. When I get around to writing it I don't know but knowing how the mood can strike at odd moments I'd like to have this information ready, just in case.

A twenty-somethin' year old man falls down a flight of stairs. Actually, he's thrown down the stairs during a fight. I haven't a set idea what the stairs look like but I know they're not straight, they kind of curve around. Oh, and they're stairs from inside a house.

In any event, he aquires a few injuries before falling down the stairs. That's not so much the issue but what kind of injuries would he have gotten during the fall? He does try to stop himself, so he has an injured wrist or hand, broken or twisted - I don't know.

My thoughts so far:
Broken/sprained ankle
Concussion
Bruised/fractured ribs
Sore neck and back
Additional facial injuries/cuts

Does that sound about right?

This is going to sound like an odd question, but does anyone know how long news would take to travel overseas back in the sixties? I'm specifically thinking 1969, from something happening in England, to be written about/announced in the US.

Of course, I could just look back in newspaper archives but I really don't know where I'd find archives that go that far back.

Thanks in advance!
