Some people spend their whole lives preparing the answer to this question: What albums are on your personal all-time Top 10 list?

View 501 Answers

I was just thinking about which is my favourite Alice Cooper album on my walk home, which is convenient, as they would definitely rank up in the top ten. However it's so hard to choose a top ten, as I always hate leaving artists out.

In no particular order!

1. Killer by Alice Cooper
2. Sell Out by The Who
3. III by Led Zeppelin
4. Creature by Moist
5. Jefferson Airplane Takes Off by Jefferson Airplane
6. Yourself Or Someone Like You by Matchbox Twenty
7. Meddle by Pink Floyd
8. Feedback by Rush
9. Queen (I) by Queen
10. High 'N' Dry by Def Leppard (after being reminded by Ria that I missed a number 10 XD )

Found this in my email:

Hippiefest Tickets
Line up (subject to change without notice): headliner: Eric Burdon and the Animals. Support: Jack Bruce (of Cream), The Turtles feat. Flo & Eddie, Badfinger feat. Joey Molland, Terry Sylvester of the Hollies. For more information visit Live Nation.

Some of the tickets are very affordable, so I can't help but be a little curious.

I have no idea why I'm feeling so exhausted. Ever since five o'clock I've wanted to crawl into bed. Of course, that wasn't doable; I came downstairs of my own doing to feed the pets, only to be told that I was making dinner as well. A little put out I nevertheless do as told. By six o'clock, dinner about ten minutes from being ready, my dad strolls into the kitchen, approaches the oven to stir the pot, seconds after he saw me stir the pot. He then announces dinner is ready. I was ready to throw the soup at him. I'm blaming it on the exhaustion and pms.

Meme I found yesterday but doing now )

Oh, and adorable moment of the day: almost ready to leave the house for work, I realise I hadn't put my duvet pillow on my bed. I'm about to pick it up when I realised Tika was sleeping soundly on it. ♥

I'm usually incapable of recognising a good song as nothing more than a good song but a couple of weeks ago I think I made a discovery, the key words being 'I think.' So if anyone can confirm and/or deny my speculation would be appreciated.

I had my mp3 player set on shuffle and from the opening five seconds of a song I thought I was listening to Led Zeppelin's 'You Shook Me.' When the lyrics came in I realised I was wrong, I was listening to Jimi Hendrix's 'Red House.' And that made me wonder...

I know Led Zeppelin 'borrowed' from other artists as far as writing songs for their first two albums, and I believe 'You Shook Me' was one of the songs that had it's roots in another song. On the other hand I don't know Jimi Hendrix's experience with writing his songs and if he borrowed or not.

In either event I do find that the two songs sound very alike, at least as far as the guitar is played.

Am I going crazy or does anyone else hear it?

This is ridiculous. I know how to get files out of compressed folders (what they call zip folders for Windows XP) but I don't know how to make a compressed folder. Does anyone know how? A quick explaination would really help me.

Please and thank you. ^_^;

List seven songs you are into right now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

1. "She's My Man" by Scissor Sisters. Love this song immensely. I have the compulsion to bounce around everytime.
2. "Big Balls" by AC/DC. Oh dear kind god, I can't listen to this song with a straight face.
3. "Always" by Bon Jovi. Smop and angst at it's finest. One of several guilty pleasure songs.
4. "When The Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin. Only just been getting into Zeppelin over the past few weeks and this is one of my favourite.
5. "Don't Stand So Close To Me" by The Police. Lyrically it would make one shudder but I just love this song. Maybe it's Sting.
6. "Liar" by Queen. Never, never will tire of this song. The guitar, the bass, the drums!
7. "Subdivisions" by Rush. Angst and disassociation. Plus I just love singing along to this song.

Oh, and songs were listed at random. I can't think of prioritising them.

Borrowed lovingly.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Go to your playlist.
2. Hit shuffle.
3. Choose the first 25 songs - YOU CANNOT SKIP ONE. If it's embarrassing you just have to live with it.
4. With those songs you must post a lyric from each of the songs.
5. See if anybody can guess what songs they are from. If they are guessed you can cross them out. Try to get rid of all of them.

1. Show me round your fruitcage 'cos I will be your honey bee. Open up your fruitcage where the fruit is as sweet as can be. [info]kezzamorphosis

10. Don't need to wait for an invitation, you gotta live like you're on vacation. There's something sweet you can't buy with money. [info]kezzamorphosis

13. Still looking for that blue jean, baby queen. Prettiest girl I ever seen, see her shake on the movie screen, Jimmy Dean.[info]kezzamorphosis

14. This might be the only way to talk to you, that's right. It's your ears with the sound that I walk into, your mind.

15. Dead I am the one, exterminating son. Slipping through the trees, strangling the breeze.

16. When I see you doin' what I try to do for me with their words of a poet and a voice from a choir.

17. Singing come out upon my seas curse missed opportunities am I a part of the cure or am I part of the disease.

18. I'll walk down the mall stand over by the wall, where I can see it all, find out who ya call.

24. But her friend is nowhere to be seen. Now she walks through her sunken dream.[info]unnigus

25. If I could win ya, if I could sing ya, a love song so divine.

Oh, and because this was originally in my list and I was pretty positive no one would get it, here's the bonus question! Get it right and I'll write up a little fanfic for you. Just give me a few requirements. ^_^

* Bonus Question *
I'm at your disposal, I gotta get up to see what you ain't gotta hide, wheeling junk along the aisle.

I've made a worthy purchase off of Itunes, the Spamalot soundtrack. And right now I'm thinking of a certain deceased frontman as I listen to one song. Not every lyric fits him but for the most part I think it's DEAD ON.

What ever happened to my part?
It was exciting at the start.
Now we're halfway through Act 2
And I've had nothing yet to do.

I've been offstage for far too long
It's ages since I had a song.
This is one unhappy Diva
The producer's have deceived her.
There is nothing I can sing from my heart.
Whatever Happened to My Part?

I am sick of my career
Always starting second gear
Up to here, with frustration and with fears.
I've no Grammy no Rewards,
I've no Tony Awards,
I'm Constantly replaced with Britney Spears

Whatever Happened to My Show?
I was a hit, now I don't know.
I'm with a bunch of British Knights,
Prancing 'round in woolly tights.

I might as well go to the Pub
They've been out searching for a shrub
Out shopping for a Bush
Well they can kiss my Tush
It seems to me they've really lost the plot

Whatever Happened to My
I'll Call my Agent, Dammit
Whatever Happened to My
Not Yours, Not Yours,
By My,
Part!

You know you have music on the brain when you start associating every-day things to songs.

Example one:
When allowing co-worker from the circulation desk to go to the mailroom with items that would usually set off the alarm she says "Let me out!" your automatic reaction is 'Under Pressure.'
Watching some good friends screaming "Let me out!"

Example two:
When putting away books you conveniently stop infront of RM666 and automatically think... Iron Maiden.
Six - Six Six! The number of the beast!
